Meeting Minutes

Opening
The regular meeting of the AMERICAN LEGION POST 1919 was called to order at 1900 hrs. on 12 July 2022 at the 1919 Post by Commander Kip Blake.

Boys State participants: Tyler Krieder, Jesse Hester and guest.
Approval of Minutes
Minutes reviewed by members.
Motion to accept minutes: Garry Toddy, Seconded by Michael Roderick.
The minutes of the previous meeting were unanimously approved as distributed.
Committee Reports
Finance Committee –
Year end financials presented by Mike Tomes.
Mike presented specific break down of income, expenditures and balance.
Ended the year + $3,000.00
Motion to accept Finance report: Dave Everett, Second by Michael Roderick.
Motion carried.
Membership Committee –
Michael Harris.
Post 1919 membership renewals started 01 July 2022.
Start the push for 2023.
Remember you can do your renewals online or in person (right after this meeting). There is a 10-year membership for $350.
If you or a Veteran that you know can’t afford membership, let Mike Harris or Dexter Albright know. There are options.
IT Committee -
Dexter Albright
Post 1919 will re-instate live streaming meeting. The video will be paused while discussing personal information, i.e., Sick Call and Relief.
Dexter will be setting up a web site for Post 1919 Auxiliary.
Hoosier Boys State
Two of the three young men who participated at Boys State were present at the meeting. Tyler Krieder and Jesse Hester spoke of their experience while at Boys State. The three Boys State attendees were presented with Good Citizenship Citations. The three young men were presented with a Good Citizen Citation. Vincent Albright was not able to attend the meeting. Dexter Albright accepted his Citation on his behalf.

Good of Legion
- Dave Everett reported the new District Commander is Dale McDonald. Gina Owens is the new South Vice Commander. Jim Daube is the new State Commander
-Dave reminded the Post that if they would like to host a District meeting, they need to get with the VFW and reserve a Saturday in April or May.
-Pass the Hat raised $46.00
-No 50/50 held
-Mike Roderick would like to remind the members of the opportunities available at the Train show 8/27 & 8/28. Sign up sheets have been passed out and if you have questions, see Mike Roderick.
Closing ceremonies performed.
Meeting was adjourned at 1955 hrs. by Commander Kip Blake. The next general meeting will be at 1900 hrs. on 09 AUG 2022 at Post 1919.
