Legionnaire Spotlight
- Mike Harris
- While in Cuba doing Sonar Sub Chasing ‘REFTRA’ (Refresher Training), they received a ping on the sonar, spotted a submarine. A Mark86 (dummy) torpedo was fired from the portside at said sub. Then the ship started turning to the portside. Someone realized the torpedo was chasing them. They called the Com to inform they were being tracked by a torpedo, their torpedo. The torpedo scored a direct hit in the fan tail of their ship. So we now know our Navy can actually hit a target, their own ship. Go Navy!
