Opening

The regular meeting of the AMERICAN LEGION POST 1919 was called to order at 1900 hrs. on 13 SEP 2022 at the 1919 Post by Commander Kip Blake.

Approval of Minutes

August Minutes reviewed by members.

Committee Reports

Finance Committee –

End of previous month August $8900.00.

$600 earmarked for Boys State. All other available to use.

Motion to accept Finance report: Gary Toddy, Second by Mike Roderick.

Membership Committee –

Michael Harris.

Post 1919 membership renewal at 59%. We have made our first goal for the renewal period.

Post 1919 received the 100% Membership Pennant and Certificate for 2022. 

Remember you can do your renewals online or in person (right after this meeting). 

There is a 10-year membership for $350. 

If you or a Veteran that you know can’t afford membership, let Mike Harris or Dexter Albright know.  There are 2 new members. Rich Coffey and Christine Hurley

District Meeting will be held at Post 1919 on May 13, 2023.

Good of Legion

Mike Tomes

• The post will be open for the Colts games that start at 1300. This is a pitch in for snacks during the game. Bartenders have volunteered their tips to go to the Vietnam annual party.

Dave Everett

• District meeting in September will be in Brazil, IN. The Post Everlasting Ceremony will be held during the meeting.
• Indiana quarterly meeting will be held Sept 30 – Oct 2 in Indianapolis. Shadeland Ave. Marriott.
• Really need 2-4 new volunteers to help with Saturday poker. Joe Vidales will not be able to continue to host due to medical issue. You do not have to volunteer for every Saturday. If we can get 2-4 more people on the VFW gaming license, volunteers may only have to help 1 Saturday per month.

Michael Roderick

• Wanted to thank all the AL, VFW and AL Auxiliary members that helped at the Franklin Train Show.

Garry Toddy

• Suggested that we hold a can goods / food drive for the holidays. Possibly work with the Auxiliary to help.

Closing ceremonies performed.

Meeting was adjourned at 1940 hrs. by Commander Kip Blake. The next general meeting will be at 1900 hrs. on 11 October 2022 at Post 1919.
