Opening

The regular meeting of theAMERICAN LEGION POST 1919 at 1905 hrs.  11 March 2025 by 1^st Vice Commander Gary Toddy.

Previous meeting minutes distributed to attendees.

Motion to approve by Dave Everett, Second by Doree Boger.

The minutes of the previous meeting unanimously approved as distributed.

Membership Committee

78.5% of 2025 (162 of 208) Goal, as of 11 March 2025.

Reminder emails will be going out next week to alert passed due membership.

Dues have increased to $55. The 10-year option is still available. It is a Department program and the cost is $400 for 2025. This is still your best option. If you are a 10-year member, you will still get a renewal note from National. You are paid up, just see membership chair with questions/concerns. National has a 3-year program at $55 each, $165 total. Membership year begins 01 July 2025.

• Meetings will be the first Saturday of month at 1100 Hours.
• Upcoming Events
  • Movie Night: Thursday, 13 FEB 1800, Hrs in Bar Area.
    • Three movies thus far. Attendance is small but growing. Still showing Band of Brothers followed by a featured movie.
  • Valentine’s Day Party: Friday, 14 FEB in Banquet Rooms.
  • Six-Week Comedy Boot camp: Sunday, 16 MAR 1300-1600 in Day Room.
  • Vietnam Veterans Day: Saturday, 29 MAR in Bar Area.

$20 membership dues.

• Pasta Dinner: 11 MAR 2025, 1730-1830 Hrs.
  • Went ok, would like to see more participation.
    • On a side note, the pasta was excellent!

    • Must be a Junior in High School.
    • Registrations are now open.
  • Card Committee
    • Euchre Tournament, Saturdays 1100 Hrs, $10.
    • Poker Tournament, Saturdays 1400 Hrs, $40.
  • Made motion to begin a (and chair) Flag Committee, Second, Doree Boger. Motion carried.
    • Will reach out to area Goodwill stores to see if can get their donated flags.
    • Help with cleaning and replacing to area business.
    • American Legion Flag and Emblem has a ‘Flag Rewards’ program in which we can received credit for each flag ordered with our post 1919 listed on the form.
