Dinner served to anyone in need in honor of former husband “Doc”
Free Thanksgiving Dinner from 12 noon to 3 p.m.
VFW Post 5864 Auxiliary member Beth (Martin) Vidales came up with an unusual idea. Since Beth’s children live out of the area and her husband passed away from
effects of Agent Orange in 2012, she wanted to do something for those who were without family on Thanksgiving Day. She proposed to the House Committee that she cook a meal and be open for those who just want to enjoy a good home cooked meal who may not otherwise get one. Beth has been doing this at her own home for the past several years.
To know how much she needs to cook and if you are interested, please call, provide your name and phone number and then just simply show up on Thursday, November 28 from 12 noon to 3 p.m. The meal will consist of turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, dressing, and all the trimmings. Rolls and butter will also be served. Soft drinks and coffee will also be served free. Any other drink would have to be purchased. You are welcome to donate any amount for your meal to help offset costs incurred by Beth and her helpers.
Please call Beth Vidales at (317) 250-7077, or e-mail her at
The dinner will be served in the Greenwood VFW, 333 S. Washington St, Greenwood, IN. (right next to the BMV, and close to Greenwood Fire station)
